Do I need to defrag my Hard Disk?
This is a controversial subject often debated amongst the Mac users community. Half of the community feel it’s important to defrag regularly for optimal system performance. The other half laugh at the idea.
So please decide for yourself after you read Apple’s official documentation on this subject.

Executive Summary:
“You probably won’t need to optimize at all if you use Mac OS X… ”
It’s the word “probably” that divided us!
Therefore if you want to defrag your hard disk, go ahead and do it. On the other hand, many long-time Mac OS X users don’t even know what “defrag” is and their Mac are fine.
“Aiyah, got plenty of free time do it lah. No time I heck care lor.” – RupertGee
